My Business Philosophy
Being "Your trusTED Real Estate Advisor" is more than just a catchy slogan. Buying or selling real estate today is not easy - it's growing more complex every day - and having someone you can trust is extremely important. Simply stated, my goal is to provide excellent service, to be the absolute best agent for the job. Period.
About SALES: I ENJOY being a salesperson! Being a great salesperson is an art! I begin by listening to my clients needs and then determing how I can help fill those needs. When I first started working in real estate, some of my good friends expressed stunned disbelief. When I asked them why, they explained that they felt a lot of real estate salespeople were not very trustworthy, that they were just looking out for themselves. The truth is that selling isn’t done in isolation but rather it is something that is done TO us, and so we resist salespeople. Because of this natural resistance, I look at myself as a real estate ADVISOR. My role is to consult with clients by listenening to their needs and determining how I can best serve them.
About SERVICE: I ENJOY being of service to others! It’s how each of us feels fulfilled. It’s what brings value to our lives. My goal is to provide my clients with such excellent service that after I am finished helping them buy or sell a home, they will be so satisfied that they will tell all their friends and family about me. And by providing excellent service, I often find I’ve just gained another very good friend. It’s a very gratifying experience. Please see my Testimonials for more information about how I've helped my past clients. Providing excellent service is really all about following the Golden Rule. I treat people the way I'd like to be treated myself, by providing the same level of service that I would want to receive myself.
About being the BEST AGENT for the job: Real estate is a very crowded, competitive field. Just ask anyone who is in the business. Contrary to popular opinion, being a real estate agent is not easy money. I work on a contingency fee basis. Only if everything goes right and the transaction successfully closes, do I earn my commission. Essentially the real estate business model is to work for free, work for free, work for free and then, only if everything goes right and everyone is happy, do I get paid. As you can imagine, being in real estate is a risky business. It’s also a relatively easy business to get into and so lots of new agents try it every year. Because it is so risky, and because it is far harder than it first appears, the national failure rate for new real estate agents is a whopping 70%!
In order to thrive, not just survive, I have to be the best I can be! It’s a wonderful goal because it means that I will ALWAYS be moving forward, learning new skills, improving myself, so that I can provide the highest possible customer service.
One final note: I am not just a real estate salesperson. I am a Broker Associate of Sea Cottage Real Estate and a REALTOR® - and I’m very proud of that. It takes only takes a real estate license to become a real estate salesperson. It takes a higher degree of real estate education to earn a real estate broker's license and it takes committing to a written Code of Ethics to become a REALTOR®.
